ReCreate at the Lake
Transition
Change happens. We lose a loved one. We move away from friends and family. We find new direction. We have to re-create our lives. However, with those changes we have to partner with Jesus to re-create our inner lives. I’ve been on a journey of transition. It’s been one of recovery but also one of becoming more intimately acquainted with Jesus.
In May of 2021 I became a widow for the second time. The loss of my prince came when I was about to embark on several changes in my counseling ministry. We were preparing for our eighth Encounter weekend, and I had plans to create a new website, finish my book, and start a podcast and zoom counseling. As you can see my ambitious plans have come to fruition. The Lord has been so very present with me. I came up with this new faith confession:
My Weakness is a Container for His Strength.
I also sold our house, and my family built a small house for me near Arbuckle Lake in Southeastern Oklahoma, including a mini apartment, complete with bathroom and kitchenette, for any visitors I might have. I was talking with my friend Beckie about what my life would look like at the lake. I was concerned that I had no word of the Lord or confirmation, but I also had no check in my spirit.
That’s when ReCreate at the Lake was born.
I had just finished an Encounter, so it was fresh on my mind. Suddenly I saw myself doing an Encounter weekend for individual women or couples.
Transition can be difficult, or it can be an exhilarating life-changing experience. The latter happens when you trust Jesus to make all things new.
My exhilarating life-changing experience started with lunch with my pastor, John Youell Sr. Two months later, John stepped onto my porch and God stepped in and ignited love in our hearts. Six weeks later we were married. You can read our story, The Divine Romance in Her Blog section.
Romans 8:28 (AMPC) We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
